A louver consists of a series of angled slats designed to allow airflow while providing a degree of visual screening. The angled slats restrict direct visibility through the opening while allowing air to pass through, making louvers suitable for applications that require both ventilation and visual screening.

A door incorporating louvers is generally referred to as a louvered door. At SUNWIZZ, we refer to doors equipped with louvers as Louver Doors. Louvered doors are commonly used indoors for ventilation, but they can also be suitable for certain outdoor applications. Because air can pass through the louvers, wind pressure on the door can be reduced compared with a solid door. The louvers also provide limited visibility of people on the opposite side, helping improve safety when opening the door. SUNWIZZ Louver Doors feature aluminum door construction and aluminum louver blades, providing excellent corrosion resistance and durability. Please note, however, that these doors are not designed to provide watertightness or full weather sealing and are therefore not suitable for use as exterior entrance doors where protection from rain and weather is required.

The photograph below shows a Louver Door installed in a wire-mesh fence separating an external parking lot from a factory site. Although the parking lot was adjacent to the factory, the existing perimeter fence could not be removed. Accessing the site through the existing entrance required a significant detour, so a section of the fence was modified and a Louver Door was installed to provide a more convenient access point.

The door is equipped with a mechanical keypad lock, allowing access to authorized employees only.

The next photograph shows an aluminum Louver Door installed at the entrance to a maintenance passage at a beverage factory. The passage is located in an outdoor equipment maintenance area and had previously been left open. A door was required to improve security. Because the door would be exposed to outdoor wind, the customer wanted a solution that would minimize wind resistance while also providing limited visibility of anyone on the opposite side to improve safety when opening the door. We proposed a Louver Door to meet these requirements, and the customer selected this solution. The door is normally kept locked, and maintenance personnel unlock it when access is required for equipment maintenance.

The final photograph shows a service entrance at a condominium. The existing aluminum gate had long been a source of concern because of the noise generated when it closed. In addition, the horizontal rails were spaced widely enough that someone could reach through the gaps and operate the handle from outside, creating a security risk. We initially considered a Louver Door. However, taking both ventilation and appearance into account, commercially available perforated panels were selected instead, with the door frame finished with a factory-applied fluoropolymer coating. The lock was also replaced with a keypad lock, allowing residents to use the service entrance without carrying a physical key.
